Bertine takes shot at Olympic cycling.

The Journal News reports Katherine Bertine is attempting to compete in the Olympic cycling event by changing citizenship.

Time is running out for Katherine Bertine. The life of an athlete is short, and the Bronxville native realized she would probably never make the U.S. Olympic team in her chosen sport, the triathlon. But she doesn’t give up easily, in a race or on a whispered hope, and she started thinking about ways she could reach Beijing this summer as an official athlete.

“It was apparent to me I wasn’t going to be one of the top three women in the U.S.,” Bertine said.
